'N Sync Sets New Record, Tops Chart

'N Sync's No Strings Attached flew out of stores this week, selling more than 2.4 million copies, according to industry sources. It marks the first time that any album has sold more than 2 million copies in a one-week period since the recording industry began using Soundscan sales data nearly a decade ago. In fact, 'N Sync outsold Santana's Supernatural, which falls to No. 2, by more than 2.1 million units.

Elsewhere, Ice Cube's Vol. 2-War & Peace and Pantera's Reinventing The Steel had strong debuts at No. 3 and No. 4, respectively.

Sisqo's Unleash The Dragon slid down from No. Two to No. 5 this week followed by Dr. Dre's Dr. Dre 2001 at No. 6 and Macy Gray's On How Life Is at No. 7.

The WWF Aggression album featuring a who's who of hip-hop superstars, including Run-DMC, Snoop Dogg & W.C., Ice-T, Method Man and more, debuted at No. 8. Rounding out the top 10 is Destiny's Child's The Writings On The Wall, at No. 9, and Kid Rock's Devil Without A Cause, at No. 10.

Other debuts this week include Aquarius, the new album from "Barbie Girl" hitmakers Aqu Girl" hitmakers Aqua, which debuted at No. 82.
